Chatteris Midsummer Festival

Chatteris Midsummer Festival runs across a whole weekend in June and begins with a vibrant town centre parade.

Furrowfields recreation ground is at the centre of the festival activities and is where the Saturday morning launch parade culminates.

The festival includes a packed programme of entertainment, attractions, stalls and food running into Saturday evening and Sunday.

Walking, cycling and use of public transport to get to the event is encouraged for those who can.

If you're travelling by car, it's free to park in Furrowfields car parks.

Plan for town centre road closures 9am - 1pm of the festival Saturday to allow for the parade to pass through.

To minimise disruption roads reopen once the parade has been through. Usually the parade begins at 11am and is finished by 11.30am.

Access to Furrowfields car parks is not be possible during the parade.

If you arrive by bike, please note cycling is not permitted in the event area.

Who organises Chatteris Midsummer Festival?

Chatteris Midsummer Festival is a Fenland Four Seasons event driven by a dedicated committee of volunteers.

The committee puts in many hours of work to plan, organise, deliver and fundraise for a programme of events and activities.

We would like to thank all the organisations and people that have contributed to the event's success over the years and the generosity of local businesses in sponsoring the event and programme.

Fenland District Council provides some seed money to each of the Fenland Four Seasons events, an officer to support in the coordination and planning of them, support with bookings and administration and to ensure staffing for many aspects of the on-the-day running.

Chatteris Town Council also co-funds the event and provides officer time and invaluable support.

If you would like to contribute to the event in any way, such as through sponsorship, volunteering or promotion please contact our markets and events team.
