Have your say on Wimblington and Stonea Neighbourhood Plan

Residents in Wimblington and Stonea have a fresh opportunity to influence future development in their villages, with the launch of a Regulation 16 consultation on the area's Neighbourhood Plan.

Consultation 2

Fenland District Council has launched the six‑week consultation on the Wimblington & Stonea Neighbourhood Plan, following its formal submission by Wimblington and Stonea Parish Council last month.

The consultation runs from Wednesday 8 April 2026 until Friday 22 May 2026, giving residents, businesses and local organisations the chance to review the submitted plan and share their views.

If adopted, the Neighbourhood Plan would become part of the district's statutory development plan, shaping future planning decisions and giving residents greater influence over new development in their area.

The plan and other Regulation 16 submission documents can be viewed online at: Wimblington & Stonea Neighbourhood Plan, and at the following locations during the consultation period:

  • March Library, City Road, March, PE15 9LT
  • Wimblington Parish Hall, Addison Road, Wimblington, PE15 0QT - Friday mornings (9am -12pm)
  • Parkfield Sports Club, Chapel Lane, Wimblington, PE15 0QX
  • The Anchor Public House, 12 Norfolk Street, Wimblington, PE15 0QA

Comments can be submitted to Fenland District Council via email to: planningpolicy@fenland.gov.uk

After the consultation closes, all comments received will be considered by an Independent Examiner, who will assess whether the plan meets the statutory requirements.

If the Examiner recommends that the plan proceed - either as submitted or with modifications - the Council will decide whether to proceed to a local referendum, where residents of Wimblington and Stonea will be asked whether they support the plan.

If successful at referendum, the Wimblington & Stonea Neighbourhood Plan will form part of the statutory development plan, used to determine planning applications in the area.
