Active Fenland Wellbeing Walks are free, short, friendly, and welcoming walks, which allow you to get active outdoors, at your own pace, in the company of other like-minded individuals.
Walks are only possible thanks to the dedication of our valued volunteer walk leaders.
Discover your local wellbeing walk on our Active Fenland Timetable.
Cancelled walks will be posted on the Active Fenland Facebook page, please do check before your walk.
There's no need to book. Just turn up!
Information about wellbeing walks
Please turn up at the start location of your chosen walk five to 10 minutes prior to the walk time and register with the walk leader.
There's no need to book in advance, but there will be a register on the day.
You will be asked to complete an ICE card (in case of emergencies) and have this with you every time you walk.
All walks are designed with rest stops along the way, often at benches if needed.
Walks focus on being social, welcoming and for all. Walk descriptions show what pace the walks are generally but all are variable to the walkers on the day.
The walk description will show if the walk is accessible (for instance, if it is suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooter users, buggies etc) and if dogs are allowed, if they are family friendly etc.
Some walks have the option of stopping for a hot drink afterwards.
All Wellbeing Walks are completely free. Additional costs may apply for optional social activities that take place after walks, such as an optional drink in a cafe.
Equipment
No specialist equipment needed, just dress appropriately for the weather on the day, ensuring comfortable footwear.
Bring a bottle of water, if desired, and anything else you need to enjoy a comfortable walk.
Children and dogs
Under 16s must be always accompanied by a responsible adult and remain the responsibility of the responsible adult throughout.
Some walks allow friendly dogs on leads. Contact Active Fenland at activefenlandbookings@fenland.gov.uk for more information.
Take care
Please take care on walks, watch your stepping and the environment around you.
Please follow the walk leader's instructions and stay with the group. If you need to leave at any time, please inform the walk leader.
Please always be kind and respectful to the walk leaders and others on the walk.
Changes to walks
Walks will be cancelled in adverse weather.
Walk details do change so please check the Active Fenland Facebook page and Active Fenland Timetable for the latest information.
