Overview and Scrutiny Panel

The public can suggest topics for the scrutiny work programme

Overview and Scrutiny Panel wish to facilitate greater levels of public participation in the formulation of its work programme, with members of the public having a greater direct influence over future topics.

Members of the public can suggest topics for scrutiny. These will be scored to ensure they are aligned to matters of strategic importance and corporate priorities.  Feedback will be provided to the individual informing them of topics being included and those which are not successful.

Reviews in relation to specific planning or licensing applications will not be considered or topics which are considered vexatious or discriminatory.

The Chairman of the Panel in conjunction with the Scrutiny Officer will consider the topic suggestions in accordance with the agreed scoring mechanism and inform the Panel via the updated work programme.

Members of the public can suggest a topic for scrutiny via any of the Council's access points including the Contact Centre, Customer Service Centres and Community Hubs as well as via e-mail to memberservices@fenland.gov.uk.
