Change of name

It is important that your details on the Register of Electors are accurate. If you have changed your name please tell us otherwise you may not be able to vote and your credit rating may be affected.

There are 2 ways that you can update your name on the Register of Electors:

  1. By registering again with your new details at the Gov.uk Website. You will need to include your previous name, your NI number and DOB to complete this process.
  2. Or, you can print and complete a Change of Name Form.  Change of Name Form (PDF) [114KB]

You will also need to give supporting evidence with the form. This could be:

  • a marriage or civil partnership certificate; or
  • a deed poll; or
  • an amended birth certificate

You can return the form and supporting evidence to us in the following ways: 

By Email - Complete the form, scan or take a clear photo of the form and your supporting evidence and send it to the team at elections@fenland.gov.uk

By Post - Please send the completed form and a copy (not the original) of the supporting document to: The Elections Team, Fenland District Council, Fenland Hall, County Road, March, PE15 8NQ

In Person - To book an appointment, please complete our online booking form or call our telephone contact centre on 01354 654321 - Lines are open 9am-4pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am-noon (Saturday)

Please note if you currently vote by post you will need to update your details by completing a new postal vote application. Apply for a postal vote - GOV.UK
