Fenland 50 - Scoping Consultation

Help shape Fenland's future

We are starting work on a new Local Plan for Fenland - called Fenland 50 - and we want to hear from the people who live, work and run businesses here.

This plan will guide how Fenland grows and changes up to 2050. It will influence where new homes are built, how our towns and villages develop, what jobs and businesses are supported, how we manage water and flood risk, and what our places look and feel like in the future.

This is about your Fenland - and your views matter from the very start.

Paper copies of the documents and consultation are available on request by phoning the Council on 01354 654321 or emailing planningpolicy@fenland.gov.uk

Before any decisions are made, we need to understand what matters most to people across Fenland. We are starting with a short survey to gather views from residents, businesses, farmers and local organisations in towns and villages across the district.

Fenland has a strong identity and a long tradition of shaping its own future. While the Council is responsible for preparing the Local Plan, it should reflect the priorities, experiences and aspirations of the people and communities who are part of everyday life here.

Your responses will help influence:

  • the overall direction of the plan
  • how we think about growth and change
  • the balance between homes, jobs, environment and infrastructure

This is your opportunity to help shape a plan that works for Fenland - now and for future generations. Whether you live in a town or village, run a business, farm the land, or have grown up here, your perspective matters.

The consultation is open from 28 January to 16 March 2026.
