The Appointment Panel considers the
appointment or dismissal ofthe Head of
Paid Service, Chief Officers and Directors (although the
appointment of Chief Executive must be confirmed by Full
Council). It also considers
disciplinary action against the Chief Executive, hears disciplinary
appeals made by the Chief Officers, the Monitoring Officer (and
Deputy) and Chief Finance Officer (and Deputy), the terms and
conditions of service of the Chief Executive, other employment
related issues as they apply to the Chief Executive and any
grievance submitted by the Chief Executive.
