The committee comprises 8
members including up to 3 members of the Cabinet, 3 members of the
Overview and Scrutiny Panel and 2 backbench members. It has
responsibility for: * receiving reports from the Head of Paid
Service and/or the Deputy Chief Executive on strategic employment
policies, ie those employment policies
immediately and directly affecting all employees * collaborating
with the Staff Side Group to promote effective communication and
consultation between the Council and its employees on general
personnel matters * exercising discretion allowed under the Local
Government Pension Scheme, including the awarding of discretionary
payments to employees.
