Start Up Grant Fund - Success Story

To receive information from Kerrie McFadden on her grant success, which has helped rural businesses.

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Kerrie McFadden regarding a Start Up Grant fund she received from the District Council in order to build a business to help the local farming community promote their businesses through social media.

Halal Meat Slaughtering Practices

Catherine Blaiklock to attend to provide an update on the Halal meat practices.

Minutes:

Members were shown a presentation on the Hala Meat Slaughtering practice and the option to choose what people buy and consume from supermarkets, presented by Catherine Blaiklock, Robin Tilbrook and Gurpreet Singh Anand.

Bovaer Cattle Food Additive

To receive a verbal update on the Bovaer Cattle Food Additive.

Minutes:

Councillor Taylor gave an update on the Bovaer cattle food additive which is in some animal feed. This is a private investigation Councillor Taylor has taking on in his capacity as a Farmer.

Minutes:

Councillor Taylor stated that he had a phone meeting with the Leader of the Conservative Party scheduled regarding the Rural and Farming Committee as Fenland District Council is the only Council to have such a committee in place.

 

Councillor Taylor referred to motions on TB and Blue Tongue and support for local farmers with planning applications.

Minutes:

Councillor Taylor stated that he would like to take the opportunity to remind planning officers of the motion agreed by Full Council regarding supporting local farmers with planning applications to ensure the motion is taken into consideration when determining applications from local farming businesses, alongside all other planning considerations.
