Decision:

To agree to the extension of the existing gas Supply contract via ESPO Procurement for a period from 1/4/27 to 31/3/31.

 

Reasons for the decision:

The present contract with Total Energies is due to expire on the 31st March 2027.

 

With the current fluctuations in energy costs FDC have partnered with ESPO Procurement a subsidiary of Leicestershire County Council to source the most advantageous long term gas supply contract.

 

Alternative options considered:

The requirement to have a gas supply contract in place cannot be avoided and in approaching a supply specialist procurement organisation and one owned by another local government organisation represents the most secure and cost-effective solution currently available.

 

The procurement process has been overseen by the FDC procurement manager and is compliant with the rules presently in place,
