Grant Funding Agreement with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority

Decision Maker: Corporate Director & Monitoring Officer

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Decision:

Approving the Grant Funding Agreement for Biodiversity Support from the CPCA.

Reasons for the decision:

This CPCA funding of £50k revenue will allow each constituent authority of CPCA (£350K has been distributed equality to all seven authorities) to prepare habitat management plans on council land assets (freehold or long lease) to help make sure such land assets are managed in a way to assist in the conservation and enhancement of biodiversity.

A biodiversity audit should be completed to establish a baseline of the current biodiversity on each applicable site and a management plan setting out specific actions to further the objective of conserving and enhancing biodiversity on such land, whilst being mindful of the competing demands on such land (such as, but not exclusively, play and recreation, historic environment, flood alleviation and other competing infrastructure demands).
