Portfolio Holder for Leisure and IDB’s is requested to appoint MJH Construction Services Ltd to carry out works to the sum of £119,995 to refurbish the Eastwood Car Park in Chatteris in accordance with the proposed scheme designed and administered by the Councils in-house Engineering Team.

Decision

The Portfolio Holder for Leisure and IDB’s has agreed to appoint MJH Construction Services Ltd to carry out works to Eastwood Car Park in Chatteris, in accordance with their submission and accompanying documentation for the sum of £119,995.00.

This scheme was advertised nationally on Contracts Finder.  Following a compliant Category C procurement process Five Bonafede tender returns were received in the Proactis Portal and fully evaluated in accordance with Section 2.22 of the Contract Document.

MJH Construction Services Ltd provided the most economically advantageous offer, equating £8,171 less than 2^nd placed return.  Their quality submission was sufficiently detailed to permit confidence in their appointment. MJH references have been taken up and prove to be positive.

The alternative option would be to not proceed with the works as planned. This would result in abortive cost to the project for design as well as reputational damage to Fenland District Council.
