Breach of planning control (planning enforcement)

If you think planning control has been breached or that unauthorised works have taken place, report it to us.

Planning Enforcement

Before making a report, we recommend that you check current Planning Applications. This is so you can see whether planning permission or consent has been granted, or if a condition has been discharged. This may help you to make your complaint more specific.

In non-urgent matters, we will make an initial site visit within ten working days. We may need to make several visits to understand if there has been a breach, and contact you again for additional information. If the matter is urgent we will investigate on the same day.

The Council does not normally investigate anonymous complaints.

More information can be found on our Planning Enforcement web pages.

    1. Please be as specific as possible as we will need to check the planning history of the property.
    2. For example: the works that are in progress or the nature of the change of use. It would help if you could explain how long the change of works have been in progress, or when it happened.
