Fenland District Council is an award-winning progressive organisation, set in the heart of a scenic and unique rural landscape in north Cambridgeshire with affordable house prices, diverse market towns and villages with good transport links to London, Cambridge, Peterborough, and the North Norfolk coast.
Our positive, can-do culture enables us to punch above our weight and empowers staff to go that extra mile in delivering important services for local people
The environmental health service is looking for a new team member to provide additional support in the specialist field of environmental protection.
Fenland Council has seen an increase in the number of strategic infrastructure projects (an energy from waste facility and proposed reservoir scheme) and an increase in county council minerals planning applications / approvals for which we need additional specialist support to ensure the best outcome for our district area.
We are seeking an experienced officer specialising in environmental protection, contaminated land and air quality projects.
Successful applicants will have a focus on the needs and aspirations of our communities and be able to work with various groups of volunteers and professionals, including elected members, to achieve agreed outcomes through planning applications, permitting schemes and major project developments.
You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and able to work alone as well as with a small and very professional team of staff.
We offer a flexible working solution, a supportive and friendly team plus a staff benefits package.
