Environmental Projects Officer - 1-year Fixed Term Contract - closing 01.12.2023
Fenland District Council is seeking an Environmental Project officer to lead on the management of 3 key environmental workstreams.
£28,371 to 32,020 per annum
Full time (37 hours per week) - 1-year fixed position
We are seeking a capable project officer preferably with experience in the environmental sector. The successful candidate will support a targeted promotional campaign for HUG2 and ECO4 retrofit works being undertaken by third party installers.
You will lead on organizing and facilitating engagement activities for Councillors, residents, landlords and letting agents to encourage uptake of energy efficient and low carbon measures in domestic properties. You will manage enquiries about the funds ensuring an effective and high quality service to the community, partners and stakeholders in support of the council's corporate priorities.
You will also be required to monitor and manage the effectiveness of the project and create monthly internal performance reports. Some knowledge of energy efficiency measures and low carbon technologies is essential.
Secondly, you will represent the Council regionally as a member of the Cambridgeshire Energy Partnership, in order to bid for future Sustainable Warmth funding and to procure resources for further stages of retrofit installations.
In order to focus and prioritise the Council's resources, you will be expected to implement with colleagues a decarbonisation strategy for Fenland, towards which funding can be sought. The scope of this strategy will include the Council's own estate and the wider community; and will involve reporting of scope 1 and 2 emissions annually.
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills and the ability to form and maintain strong working relationships quickly. Flexible and evening and weekend working is essential to this post. You will need to be able to travel to meetings within the district and occasionally within Cambridgeshire.
