Nominations open for the Pride in Fenland Awards 2022
The search for Fenland's unsung heroes of 2022 is now underway as this year's Pride in Fenland Awards open for nominations!

The awards, which are now in their 15th year, recognise and celebrate the many selfless people who go above and beyond to help their local communities - and help to make Fenland fantastic!
Presented by Fenland District Council and the Fenland Citizen with support from sponsors, the awards offer a unique opportunity for local residents to highlight the friends, family and neighbours in their life that make a difference.
Cllr Sam Clark, Fenland District Council's Portfolio Holder for Communities, said: "If you know a local hero in your community, someone who has gone the extra mile to make life better for those around them, then these awards are the perfect way to make sure they get the recognition they deserve".
"Every year the nominations we receive reveal incredible stories of selflessness, kindness and thoughtfulness from all across our region and shining a spotlight on the individuals and groups responsible for these heartfelt acts is one of the highlights of our year."
Nominations of all varieties are accepted, with the awards themselves set to be split into the following categories:
- Community Group- Open to all community groups, large and small.
- Good Friend - Open to any individual who has volunteered their time to help others.
- Young Person in the Community - Open to any individual or group of individuals aged 21 years and under.
A Special Judges Award will also be presented with the winner being chosen by the Fenland Citizen from all of the nominees.
The closing date for nominations is midnight on Sunday 9th October 2022. Nominations can be made online via the Fenland District Council website at www.fenland.gov.uk/prideinfenland or via the paper nomination forms printed in the Fenland Citizen. These can be sent via post to the Fenland Citizen offices at The Fenland Citizen, 4 Francis Street, Spalding, PE11 1AT.
This year's awards ceremony is set to take place in November at the Boathouse Business Centre in Wisbech; a welcome return after nearly 4 years without an in-person event.
The two previous Pride in Fenland award ceremonies were presented as online-only events due to the coronavirus restrictions of the time. Both of these events can be watched online via the Council's YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/FenlandCouncil
