Job Title: Electoral Registration Canvasser
Duration: Temporary for up to 4 months
Hours: No fixed hours
Salary:Initial delivery fee paid at 30p (rural area) or 25p (urban area) per form. Visit fee paid at £15 per hour. Fees vary depending on location and size of area
Locations: Wisbech, Gorefield, Manea and Stonea
There are two main parts to the canvasser role both of which must be undertaken and completed in full for payment to be made.
The first part is for the canvasser to deliver by hand the initial electoral registration forms to properties in the area allocated, from the 30 July to 14 August 2022. The second part is to then visit the properties that have failed to complete and respond to the initial electoral registration request and collect and complete registration forms with local residents from 8 October to 6 November 2022.
We are ideally looking to recruit people who are experienced in working with the general public, have great interpersonal skills, understand the importance of collecting data in an accurate and confidential manner and have detailed local knowledge of the area in which they are applying to work. There is a physical element to the role as it involves door to door deliveries over long distances. All training will be provided; the majority of visits will be most effective during evenings and weekends, meaning it can fit in with other commitments.
