Marine Services Trainee - closes 17.12.2020

Band 3 £19,312 - £21,322 (Pro Rata)

25 hours per week

+ Local Government pension scheme + 24 days holiday (Pro Rata) + Bank Holidays

Joining the Wisbech Port Authority Marine Services team, this exciting opportunity will see you working with the team to further enhance the Port Authorities statutory service including Wisbech Yacht Harbour and the Crab Marsh boatyard.

Working with the Team you will ensure that all craft and equipment and infrastructure undergo a program of regular inspections and maintenance. You will also undergo training to carry out basic, routine repairs on all craft & maintain a schedule of repairs and ensure that all work boats are certificated annually to comply with current MCA requirements and legislation.

Other duties include assisting with tug towing, dredging, bed leveling, buoy laying, maintenance of navigational aids, search and rescue and patrols, towing of leisure craft and hydrographic surveying.

The successful candidate will be required to pass an ENG1 confirmation of medical fitness

Ability to work flexibly and unsocial hours including weekends is essential.
