Pro-growth Policies - Adopted Local Plan 2014

249 dwellings on non-allocated sites, and 12 large urban extensions.

Local Plan cover

Our newly adopted Local Plan actively is avowedly pro-growth. It strongly encourages development and is aligned to the Government's agenda of providing much needed housing. Fully compliant with the NPPF, it aims to see at least 11,000 homes built and 7,000 jobs created to 2031.

At the forefront of the pro-growth policies are the provision of 12 urban extensions around the four market towns of Wisbech, March, Chatteris and Whittlesey. Additionally the Plan allows for up to 249 dwellings to be provided on non-allocated sites in and around the market towns in the right locations. The pro-growth policies are already allowing the Plan's housing target of 550 dwellings per year to be met. Our Pro-Growth Policies are listed below.
