Housing
Since the transfer of our homes to Roddons the Council retains its statutory strategic housing function including:
- Working to influence the housing market including maximising new affordable housing delivery.
- Holding robust housing marketing data to influence future housing development. Working to reduce the number of vulnerable persons living in non-decent private sector accommodation.
- Dealing with private sector house conditions complaints in accordance with the 2004 housing act.
- Mandatory licensing of qualifying 3 storeys HMO.
- Working to reduce the number of empty homes in our district.
- Delivering a disabled adaptation service to our private sector residents.
- The delivery of statutory housing options service which seeks to prevent homelessness wherever possible.
- Monitoring the agreement through Roddons to manage on our behalf the Councils statuary responsibility for allocating affordable homes to residents.
- Pro-actively influencing the community to make their homes more energy efficient including delivery of a grant service.
- Monitoring the delivery transfer contract between the Council and Roddons to our former tenants.
- Attracting in-ward investment from sub-regional, regional and national sources into Fenland through profile raising, evidence gathering and partnership working with sub-regional Councils.
