The District is made up by a diverse community with a range of physical, cultural, and social needs. We are old and young, urban and rural, black and white, permanent and transient. Fair treatment and equal access to the Council's services and employment matters to everyone.
We are determined that Fenland District Council will provide equality of opportunity, not just in the make up of our staff but in ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity and thus improve the quality of life for people living in the Fenland district. What the Council does
- Fenland District Council has carried out Equality Impact assessments on all its functions, services, policies and procedures and they are available on this website.
- The Sex Discrimination Act also covers MEN in the same respect as women.
- Disabled workers share the same general employment rights as other workers, but there are also some special provisions for them under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
The Council is concerned with putting equal opportunities into action and coordinating a corporate approach to equality and diversity.
