Volunteer Made Litter Bag Carriers

Leverington Street Pride Group were formed in 2012.

The group regularly litter pick and planted up flower barrels early into the groups creation.

In December 2012, the group were approached by their local church to see whether they would consider displaying a Christmas tree in their annual Christmas Tree Fair. The tree was decorated with litter and the group used the opportunity to promote Street Pride.

In 2013, the group joined forces with Leverington Youth Football Club to litter pick the ground. They also planted some Hawthorn and Birch Sapling trees along Roman Bank and Parson Drove Lane with the support of the Parish Council.

In 2015, a member of the group made litter bag carriers for the other volunteers - very inventive! This quirky invention led to the group winning Best Clean Up at the annual celebration evening.

In 2016, the group were nominated for an award at the Pride in Fenland Awards - another example of how group efforts are getting recognised.

New volunteers are always welcome.
