New shop opening hours
From 3 January there will be new opening hours for the four Fenland @ your service shops.
The changes have been approved by FDC's Cabinet and enable the council to make financial savings of £190,000, but still offer high quality services in the centre of all four towns in Fenland.
The new opening hours are:
Chatteris and Whittlesey: Tues, Thurs, Fri, 9am-4pm; Sat, 9am-noon.
March: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, 9am-4pm; Sat, 9am-noon.
Wisbech: Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm; Sat, 9am-noon.
The opening hours of the council's telephone contact centre and business reception remain unchanged. They are:
Telephone contact centre: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm; Sat, 9am-noon
Business reception: Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm; Fri, 9am-4.45pm
Councillor John Clark, FDC's portfolio holder responsible for customer access, said: "We consulted with town councils to ensure that we are still able to offer the best service to our customers, particularly on busy market days in all four towns.
"These new hours will ensure that we maintain an excellent service while making very significant financial savings."
