Gorefield Street Pride Group

The group meet on the third Saturday of every two months, village pavilion/sports field at 10am.

Gorefield Street Pride Group have been very active since forming in 2011

Projects they have been involved in include planting daffodil bulbs, filling two oak barrels with winter planting and litter picking.

Volunteers from the group worked along side a couple of probationers to paint out the graffiti that had been sprayed on the sports pavilion. Making it look much less offensive to the local community.

The group were also involved in a public consultation with the residents of Oxfield Drive about a piece of land near the play area. This was designated as public open space by the developers. The group wanted to create a more welcoming area, by planting trees, sowing wild flower seeds, creating a nature area for all to enjoy.

The group have been successful in gaining funding for equipment from Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and Fenland District Council.

In 2016, at the annual celebration evening the group won Best Youth Project in partnership with Gorefield Primary School for a nature garden.
