Chatteris in Bloom / Street Pride Group

The Group meet on the first Saturday of every month at 10am. Meetings take place on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm.

The In Bloom / Street Pride group are very active and enter the Anglia in Bloom Awards each year. In 2017, Chatteris was awarded Gold, a fantastic achievement and well deserved for the small group of dedicated volunteers.

In the past, the group along with the Street Pride Co-ordinator have worked with students from Cromwell Community College. The students litter picked, planted bulbs and helped with preparation for Anglia in Bloom judging.

As well as conducting group litter picks, volunteers also look after their own patches.

New murals have been painted to brighten up the walls and some disused premises, including Arkwrights, Norfolk and Goode and Empress Swimming Pool. These projects were funded through the Renaissance Scheme.

Regular work is also ongoing in Meeks Cemetery, including tree planting and tidying up the cemetery by a dedicated friends group.

In 2015, at the annual celebration evening the group won Best Youth project for the establishment of the 'Little Bloomers' group, encouraging younger children to learn about nature and support the work of the main In Bloom group.

They followed this up in 2016 by winning Best Street Scene project for their floral planter in memory of founding member Ormond Connolly who sadly passed away in 2014.

In 2017 the group won Best Promotional project for their Poppy Cascade
