Harbour

The Council is involved in the public health of the ports of Wisbech and Sutton Bridge.

Port and Harbour Health

Fenland District Council is one of sixty local authorities which provide various marine services. Despite a lack of coastline, Fenland owns the historic port of Wisbech, it is the statutory harbour authority for most of the tidal River Nene and since 2000, operates Wisbech Yacht Harbour, the first, modern marina facility for over 100 nautical miles, north or south along the UK east coast from the Wash.

The Port Of Wisbech

Still an important 'small port', Wisbech continues to offer cargo handling facilities for short sea and coastal trading vessels up to 83 metres LOA.

Being just 60 miles from the industrial east Midlands, Wisbech has strategic importance for a variety of shippers who gain much benefit from the 'inland' location.

Cargo enquiries should be directed to the port operator.
