Private Sector Housing
Fenland District Council recognises the importance of decent and safe housing for all residents and for this purpose we have a dedicated Private Sector Housing Service striving to achieve both national standards and sustain efficient, warm and safe homes throughout Fenland.
In summary the service is responsible for:
- Regulation and enforcement of housing standards in the private sector generally.
- offering advice, guidance and support to landlords and tenants and use of other more formal actions to secure compliance where necessary.
- Activity includes inspection and regulation of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), and HMO Licensing.
- Administration of the Disabled Facilities Grants programme to assist with adapting private homes to meet the needs of disabled occupants.
- Administration and delivery of minor works assistance for vulnerable households and signposting to other funding options as appropriate.
- Regulation and licensing of residential caravan sites, park homes and other sites.
If you have any enquiries about the above the please contact the Private Sector Housing Team on 01354 654321 or info@fenland.gov.uk
