Council Chairman, Councillor Kay Mayor, invited everyone to join her in the council chamber at Fenland Hall, March, for her fundraiser on Thursday, September 28.

Freshly-baked cakes and sausage rolls were on sale at the event, and there was also a raffle and dress down day for staff.

The total amount raised for the cause, which is Cllr Mayor's chosen charity for her year in office, was an impressive £737.

Cllr Mayor said: "It was lovely to see so many people come and support the morning and help make a big difference to cancer patients and their families. I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended."

The following day, the council's environmental staff held a coffee morning at The Base in Melbourne Avenue, March. There were cakes on offer, along with free pizzas donated by Dominos, and a total of £211 was raised.
