Tidy Fenland

Information about our Tidy Fenland Project, how it will affect you and its enforcement in Fenland.

Tidy Fenland Payment

Tidy Fenland Project is a community-driven campaign that calls upon residents to help crackdown on environmental crimes.

We need your help!

We are urging people to help identify hotspot areas for crimes such as littering, dog-fouling and fly-tipping. Spitting and urination offences will also be included in the campaign from January 2018.

The intelligence gathered will be used to form tough enforcement patrols; with 'on the spot' fines being served on offenders.

The campaign coincides with new antisocial behaviour powers that have come into force in Fenland to tackle dog fouling and encourage responsible dog ownership. Anyone caught breaching the new dog control Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) will face Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) of £75 (£65 if paid within 21 days), or be taken to court.

The Tidy Fenland campaign comes in response to public calls for more enforcement against those blighting our environment, and will include patrols by a private company brought in to support the council's existing Street Scene service.

Businesses are also invited to support the campaign by:

  • Signing the council's Voluntary Code of Practice
  • Installing an extra bin for customers
  • Following best practice when managing your waste
  • Keeping the outside of premises clean and tidy
  • Reporting issues to the Council quickly
  • Displaying a 'Tidy Fenland' post to show support and spread the word
