Help shape the future of March station

March residents have a chance to give their views on proposed improvements to the town's railway station at a series of events starting on Monday evening (September 19).

March Station

The events are part of a public consultation on a draft masterplan for the station that includes proposals on car parking, waiting shelters, information points and toilet facilities.

The plan has been drawn up by the Hereward Community Rail Partnership (HCRP), whose focus is to establish more community involvement in delivering local priorities for the railway line between Peterborough and Ely and its stations.

Developing a masterplan to establish what is needed for each station is essential to deliver improvements there. Masterplans have already been developed and adopted for Manea and Whittlesea stations.

The first consultation event is part of the HCRP partners' meeting on Monday evening at Fenland Hall in County Road (6-7.45pm). Those attending will also be able to find out more about the general work of the HCRP.

That will be followed by three other events:

·         Thursday, September 22: March Library (3-7pm)

·         Saturday, September 24: March Market Place (9am-12 noon)

·         Monday, October 10: March railway Station (6.30-10am)

A survey questionnaire will be available at all the events and in the Fenland @ your service shop in Broad Street. It can also be completed online at www.fenland.gov.uk/March-Station-Masterplan.

The consultation will continue until 5pm on October 24.
