Giant shark? Traffic jam? Splashing fun!

Kids on holiday, hours to fill, six Olympic medals - what's not to like about swimming? Throw in a giant inflatable and the pool has to be the place to go this summer.

Big Splash at Hudson 2016

Councillor Michelle Tanfield, Fenland District Council's Cabinet member responsible for leisure, and her son Logan were among those enjoying the "Big Splash" at the Hudson Centre in Wisbech last week.

It features Shark Attack, one of a series of inflatables that are proving popular summer holiday attractions at the council's three New Vision Fitness pools.

Similar ones called Traffic Jam and Shiver Me Timbers are at the George Campbell Centre in March and the Manor Centre in Whittlesey.

Fresh from her dip at the Hudson, Cllr Tanfield said: "We had a brilliant time. We're always trying to bring in new things at our centres and these inflatables are perfect for families looking to have fun over the holidays.

"We've got great facilities not just for swimming but for lots of other healthy activities, too. And hopefully all Team GB's successes in Rio will inspire lots more people to give them a go."

Details of all the Big Splash sessions at the three pools are available online at The pools, with inflatables, can also be booked for parties. For more information, call 01354 622399.
