It said it planned to introduce legislation that will allow people who make applications to register up until midnight on Thursday, June 9 to vote in the Referendum on June 23.

The decision has been made to accommodate those whose attempts to register were foiled by issues with the government website, on Tuesday night.

Voters are also being reminded that, if they are already registered, they do not need to make a new application.
