Volunteers make it summer bloom time for March

A team of volunteers spent a morning at Delfland Nursery this week (May 4) planting up troughs, hanging baskets and three-tier planters to brighten up March this summer.

March summer planting

The plants will all be in place around the town at the end of this month and should be at their best in time for the In Bloom judges' visit on July 7.

Members of March Street Pride / In Bloom were joined by four members of staff from CUB, the March-based energy consultancy firm, and five staff from AmeyCespa.

CUB are regular partners of Street Pride and previously helped to plant daffodil bulbs.

AmeyCespa's staff chose to volunteer with the group - each employee is given one day a year off to help out in the community.

Rebecca Robinett, Fenland District Council's Street Pride coordinator, said: "It was great to have all the people from CUB and AmeyCespa along to lend a hand. They all said it would be nice to see the flowers out in town soon and know that they helped to plant them up."
