The centre of March will be packed this Sunday (April 24), with thousands of people expected to attend the St George's Fayre celebrations.

St George's Fayre 2016

This year's event is set to be the biggest ever, with more than 130 stalls and attractions - about 30 more than last year.

The grand parade starts from Broad Street at 10.15am, with the official opening by the Mayor, Councillor Rob Skoulding, at 10.30am.

Broad Street and High Street will be closed, with diversion routes in place from 5am to 7pm. Cycling is not permitted within the event area.

Free parking is available in the City Road and Darthill Road car parks.

St George's Fayre is one of the Four Seasons events delivered by Fenland District Council and a committee of volunteers, with extra support from March Town Council.

In his introduction to the Fayre programme Cllr Skoulding writes: "We are fortunate to be part of a community that enjoys getting together to celebrate all manner of occasions and the increasing numbers that support our St George's Sunday reflects that enthusiasm."
