Great turn-out for Tydd's new Street Pride group

There was a great response at the weekend to an appeal for volunteers to join a new Street Pride group in Tydd St Giles.

Tydd St Giles Street Pride

Sixteen people turned out for a litter pick round the village on Saturday (May 9).

They were responding to a call for extra support from the new group's founders, Suzanne and Christopher Hodder.

Saturday's event was organised to gauge the level of interest in the group.

Mrs Hodder said: "We were absolutely delighted - and very pleasantly surprised - by the number of people who came along. We all worked for a couple of hours and collected a lot of litter and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

"We've started a Facebook group and will be advertising the group more widely, so we're hoping to attract even more interest."

The group is the 12th Street Pride group to be set up across the district. For more details about the scheme,
