Broad Concept Plans

Major allocated sites need a Broad Concept Plan (BCP) to ensure comprehensive planning and the delivery of key infrastructure.

Policy LP7 - Urban Extensions, of the Fenland Local Plan 2014 requires a Broad Concept Plan (BCP) to be prepared for each of its major allocated sites (either a Strategic Allocation or a Broad Location for Growth). This is to ensure these areas are planned and implemented in a coordinated way, linking to the timely delivery of key infrastructure.

The BCP will form a template that all future planning applications are expected to conform to.

A number of BCPs have been prepared. South Wisbech, East Wisbech, East Chatteris and West March have all received 'in principle' approval from FDC's Planning Committee as required by Policy LP7.

West March Broad Concept Plan

The West March BCP was given approval by Fenland's Planning Committee on 14th July 2021. This is detailed within the Planning Committee Report and Minutes. The finalised version reflects the amendments sought by the Planning Committee through their consideration of the scheme.
